EDINBURGH, Ind. - The Spalding University women's golf team hosted and competed in the 2026 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women's Golf Championship from October 4 through October 6 at Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Indiana. Marking the 10th anniversary of the conference championship event, the three-day, 54-hole tournament brought together 11 teams competing across three rounds of play.

Spalding finished sixth overall in the team standings, building momentum as the tournament progressed and saving their best performance for the final day. The Golden Eagles closed out the championship on Tuesday by firing a team-low score of 443 in Round 3, demonstrating resilience and improvement across challenging course conditions.

First-year golfer Emma Young led the way for Spalding, placing 15th overall in the individual field with a three-round score of 269. Young anchored the team's performance, capping off her championship debut with a final-round 83—the lowest individual round of the tournament for the Golden Eagles. The squad also received solid contributions throughout the three-day competition from team members Makenna Roush, Taylor Young, Tatum Riddiough, and Erin Eggar.

Grinnell College claimed its eighth consecutive SLIAC championship title with a total score of 884, led by individual medalist Madison Chen, while Mississippi University for Women finished runner-up. With the conference tournament wrapped up, Head Coach Jeff Nelson and the Golden Eagles continue to build on the growth of their roster as they turn their focus toward future competition.
