LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding University Golden Eagles secured a decisive 4–2 victory over the Greenville University Panthers on Wednesday evening at Legacy Fields. Spalding set the tone with a fast start, building a commanding 3–0 lead before halftime behind an active attack and sharp playmaking.
Clara Creg broke the ice in the 22nd minute (21:12), capitalizing on a setup from Madison Dziedzic to give Spalding the early 1–0 advantage. Dziedzic remained the catalyst for the Golden Eagles ten minutes later (31:56), delivering her second assist of the match to feed Arianna Rivera for Spalding's second goal. Maddie Campbell pushed the lead to 3–0 in the 36th minute (35:07) with an unassisted strike to cap off a dominant first half.
Greenville showed fight early in the second half, cutting the deficit to 3–1 in the 49th minute (48:58) when Ava Pollard found the back of the net. Spalding snuffed out the comeback attempt just five minutes later (54:06) as Creg netted her second goal of the night to restore a three-goal lead at 4–1. The Panthers added a final tally in the 74th minute (73:31) on an unassisted goal by Brady Unger, but Spalding's defense held firm down the stretch to lock up the 4–2 conference victory.
