LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Spalding women's soccer competed against Hanover over the weekend. The Golden Eagles secured the win 2-1 in the close matchup on Sunday afternoon.

The Spalding University women's soccer team picked up a big win on September 6, defeating Hanover 2–1 at Legacy Fields. After a scoreless first half, the Golden Eagles took control when
Claira Andrews scored in the 51st minute to break the deadlock. Just over 15 minutes later,
Karolyn Lighthall doubled the lead off an assist from
Emma Livingston, giving Spalding a cushion. Hanover cut the deficit in the 76th minute, but Spalding's defense held firm the rest of the way. The Golden Eagles finished with nine total shots and five on target, while goalkeeper
Sophie Young-Neawedde made four saves to secure the victory.
