LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding University women's volleyball team earned a strong 3–1 victory over Eureka College on Saturday, October 4, 2025, inside Columbia Gym.
SU moved to (4-11, 2-5 SLIAC), while Eureka fell to (4-11, 0-6 SLIAC)
TURNING POINT
After dropping the opening set 18–25, the Golden Eagles bounced back with determination, winning the next three sets 25–20, 25–20, and 25–23 to seal the match. The offense was led by
Paloma Martinez, who tallied a team-high 13 kills, providing consistent production at the net.
Kacy Hillerich played a major role from the service line, recording five aces to help shift momentum in Spalding's favor. Setting up the attack was
Sophi Reynolds, who finished with 18 assists, keeping the offense balanced and efficient throughout the final three sets. On the defensive side,
Jaylen Wheatley anchored the back row with 17 digs, while
Adreonna Anderson contributed three key blocks to slow down the Red Devils' hitters. As a team, Spalding posted 51 kills, 10 aces, and 66 digs in the win, showcasing a well-rounded performance that highlighted their depth and resilience. The victory marks another strong showing for the Golden Eagles as they continue to build momentum in conference play.
