INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Spalding men's basketball held their own in a close game against D1 opponent IUPUI. The final score was 63-70 in favor of the Jaguars.
TURNING POINT
The Golden Eagles got off to a slow start, allowing IUPUI to go up 0-6 before
Anthony Dillard scored Spalding's first points of the game. The Jaguars tried to pull ahead, but SU continued to match them, not allowing them to gain more than a 13 point lead. Dillard and
Andre Crawford both helped close the gap and end the first half, 25-33.
The Golden Eagles came out hot in the second half going on an 8-5 run to make the score 33-38. The teams continued to trade baskets for a bit before IUPUI went on an eight point streak.This increased the lead for the Jaguars to 17, 47-64. The Spalding defense worked hard to only allow six more points. The offense kept up the intensity, scoring 16 points in the last six minutes of the game.
The game ended 63-70 in favor of the Jaguars.
