CARLINVILLE, IL. - Spalding Women's Soccer triumphs over Blackburn Beavers for their first conference win.

After suffering a loss against the Griffins earlier this week, the Golden Eagles bounced back with a shutout win against the Beavers of Blackburn. Within the first minute of the game, the Golden Eagles were already on the offensive.
Baeli Young with an assist from
Kara Krueger nets the team's first goal of the game within the first 20 seconds. Then 2 more goals by the Golden Eagles to round out 10 minutes in by Krueger with an assist by Young and by
Ana Ibrahimkadic with an assist by
Faith Rutherford respectively. Then after a tight retaliation from the Beavers and numerous corner kicks by the Eagles the fourth shot of the game was made around minute 38 by Taylor Mahoney with an assist by Krueger yet again. And to round off the first half, the Golden Eagles scored for the fifth time off a corner kick which found its way to the back of the net just past the 40-minute mark. At the start of the second half, the Golden Eagles still came on strong by scoring their sixth and eventually their final goal of the game within only 6 minutes of the second half starting. And that goal was netted by Young with an assist from Mahoney. For the rest of the match, the Beavers held off the Golden Eagles' offense but the Eagles will ultimately have a shutout win of 6-0.
