ST, LOUIS, Mo. – The Spalding University women's basketball teams ends regular season with momentum going into the SLIAC Tournament with a road win against Fontbonne, 78-72. SU ends regular season with a record of 9-15 overall and 5-8 in SLIAC play.
Spalding jumped out early to a 10-1 lead on the Griffins. The Golden Eagles would continue to tack on to the lead going into the half as
Amber Higdon buries a three to give Spalding a 15-point lead. The SU offense would continue to run hot going down to the final minutes as Spalding takes the win 78-72 on the road.
Natalie Fichter ended the game with a double-double as she gathered 30 points for the SU offense and pulled down 17 boards.
Mercedez Moore followed behind with 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Up next, the Golden Eagles earned the #6 seed in the SLIAC Tournament and will take on #3 Greenville in Greenville, Il. Wednesday, February 23
