LOUISVILLE, Ky. - In a game full of ties and lead changes, Spalding came one point shy of Berea in a 64-63 loss.

The Golden Eagles fell to 1-7 with the setback, while the Mountaineers moved to 6-4.

TURNING POINT

The Golden Eagles were down most of the second half until a 7-0 run, that spanned over two minutes of game time, put SU up 52-51 with 8:05 left in regulation. Seven lead changes came over the final eight minutes of a thriller in Columbia Gym.

Maxton Campbell gave Spalding a late 63-61 lead on a layup assisted by Anthony Dillard with 53 seconds left.
