NORTH MANCHESTER, In. – The Spalding University volleyball team played their second day matches at the Manchester Invite beating UNOH in three straight sets and falling to Manchester 3-1.
MATCH 1
The Golden Eagles were set to take on Northwestern Ohio for their first match on day two of the invite. Spalding was able to beat the Racers in three close sets giving them their first win of the season.
Jayda Branch led the team in kills with nine as
Mya Summers picks up 25 assists and
Emily Jaggers tallies 16 digs for the Golden Eagles.
MATCH 2
In match two, the Golden Eagles fell to Manchester 3-1. Despite winning the first set, 25-17, the Spartans made a quick turnaround to take three straight sets in the four-set matchup. Freshman
Jayda Branch and
Samantha Robison led the team with 11 kills each as
Mya Summers would assist her fellow Golden Eagles 34 times.
Emily Jaggers picked up 19 digs for Spalding.
The Golden Eagles will take the court again Wednesday, September 8
th against Franklin College at home at 6:30 pm ET.
