LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University women's volleyball team lost in four sets to the Centre College Colonels in close match. The Golden Eagles extend their record to 1-7 on the season.
Centre would come out swinging in the first set to take an early 2-0 lead as the Spalding defense gathers their bearings. They would answer back to tie the score at two on the kill from
Jayda Branch. The Colonels would stride for seven straight points as the Golden Eagles found themselves down by six. Although fighting back to gain the lead, the Colonels would take the first set 25-18.
The Golden Eagles would make set two interesting as the two teams went back and forth on the scoreboard. Spalding would break away late in the set as they took advantage of attack errors by the Colonels and tie the match score at one with a 25-21 win. The Colonels would then take sets three and four to secure their ninth win of the season and give Spalding their seventh loss.

Jayda Branch finished with a total of 14 kills followed by
Kayla Dunican and
Samantha Robison each with seven. Branch and libero
Sarah Richards each ended with 30 digs a piece while
Mya Summers assists 36 times to her offense.
