LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding men's soccer team ties in second meeting with Greenville College at home in double overtime. The Golden Eagles extends their record to 3-1-2 on the season and 3-0-2 in conference play.
In the first period, a foul by the Greenville Panthers would allow Spalding to record their first goal of the night.
Alioune Cisse would take the foul kick in the box where the ball would find
Ahmadou Gueye to put the Golden Eagles up, 1-0. Although Spalding took the lead, the Panthers would tie the score in the 14
th minute of play. Two minutes later, a Greenville foul would allow for a Spalding penalty kick to reach the back of the net taken by
Abdoulaye Pam, giving the Golden Eagles a one-goal lead. The Panthers caught some momentum and were able to tie the score again, 2-2. Both teams could not convert offensively ending the game in a tie at 2-2.
Pam and Gueye each recorded one goal a piece while goalkeeper,
Trevor Massa, picks up his second tie recording a 1-0-2 record.
Spalding returns to action Saturday April 3 on the road against Iowa Wesleyan.
