Box Score 2 EUREKA, ILL. - The Spalding volleyball team snagged a pair of wins on the road Friday evening to improve to 2-1 on the season. SU topped host Eureka College in four sets in the opener, 25-17, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-20. Then followed it with a three-set sweep of Iowa Wesleyan in the nightcap, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-21.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening match against Eureka, Samantha Robinson and
Maggie Purichia led the attack with 10 kills each and Kendall Mattsion added six kills.
Mya Summers orchestrated the offensive attack passing out 32 of the Golden Eagles 37 assists, as well as added five kills.
Sarah Richards led the back row with 26 digs and
Theresa Kwarciany scored three aces. Â
- After a win over Eureka, the Golden Eagles took the court by storm rolling past Iowa Wesleyan in straight sets. Spalding's offense was led by
Hannah Holland's 10 kills, while
Maggie Purichia added seven kills and Theresa Kwarciay dropped in four aces. Mya recorded a total 22 assists and three kills for the match.
Gabby Ellis led the defense with 12 digs, while Purichia and
Kendall Mattison each had two blocks each.
