LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team outlasts the Beavers from Blackburn to advance to the SLIAC Semifinal Match. With the win, the Golden Eagles extend their record to 11-12 overall and 8-4 in SLIAC play.
 
Despite the Golden Eagles winning the first set, the Beavers would make it interesting as their offense came alive towards the second half of the set. Spalding would just barely grab the set as a kill from Hannah Holland seals the win to give Spalding the 1-0 lead. As the second set begins, Spalding would take advantage of attack errors on the Beaver offense to put them up early in the set. The Beavers would make a comeback to the lead as they go for four straight points from Spalding miscues. The Golden Eagles were able to rally at the end for five straight points to take the second set 25-21. Blackburn was able to comeback from what appeared to be certain defeat as they take the third set 25-22 keeping them alive for one more set. Ultimately, Spalding hammers the nail in Blackburn's season to advance to semis as they win the fourth set 25-14.
 
Jayda Branch led the team with 17 total kills as Mya Summers records 42 assists and Sarah Richards lifts 23 balls off the floor.
