LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding men's basketball team fell to Millikin, 66-54, Saturday afternoon at Columbia Gym to drop to 0-2 on the season.
The Golden Eagles fell behind early following a Noah Livingston jumper to make it 8-4 at the 16:30 mark, but SU battled back eventually taking a four-point lead of their own on a
Troy Amanor jumper in the paint. The Big Blue outscored Spalding 13-8 the remainder of the half and took a 29-28 lead into the halftime break. A
Christian Stewart layup on Spalding's first possession of the second half put the Golden Eagles in front, 30-29, but SU would soon find themselves trailing by six after at quick 8-2 Big Blue spurt. Spalding would battle back to cut the deficit to two points following a pair of
Isaiah Lockard free throws, but the Big Blue would keep the Golden Eagles at bay the rest of game on their way to a 66-54 win.
Christian Stewart led Spalding with 15 points, while
Troy Amanor chipped 12 points and 5 rebounds.
