HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spalding opened the game with a 12-0 run started by a layup from Troy Amanor. A layup from Chance Hill would give Spalding a 13 point advantage with just under five minutes to go in the first half. The Beavers went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 3, but the Golden Eagles held on, extending their lead at half to seven off of a Brian Tribble layup, 40-33. Spalding shot six-for-nine from beyond the arc behind four-of-five shooting from Marcus Montgomery.
- The Golden Eagles continued to push their lead at the start of the half. Another three from Montgomery would put Spalding at a 13 point lead about five minutes into the half, but the Beavers would not go away as they went on a 15-0 run halfway through the half, securing their lead for the first time the whole game. From there, it was all Blackburn. Scoring only four points in the final 11 minutes, the Golden Eagles got outscored 19 in the second half, falling to the Beavers 58-70.
