LOUISVILLE, KY – The Golden Eagles lost in a heartbreaker to Webster in overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started out with five unanswered points by the Golden Eagles, coming from
Breanna Anthony and
Hunter Wright. However, despite their quick start, the Gorlocks quickly caught up, leaving Spalding to go into the second quarter down by three.
- Their first quarter deficit sparked something in the Golden Eagles because they came into the second quarter strong. They not only came back from behind, but gained the advantage going into halftime up by six points.
- In the third quarter, Spalding pushed their lead into double-digits taking a 12-point advantage. The Gorlocks began fighting back, cutting their deficit back down to just six points going into the final quarter.
- With 4:22 left in the game, the score was tied at 49-49. However,
Maleah Hirn responded by draining a three-pointer to give Spalding the lead once again. At 1:24 the game was tied back up, but another bucket by Hirn brought Spalding the lead. With seven seconds left in the game, Webster got a layup to tie the score at 55-55 to send the game into overtime.
- Overtime did not go as planned for the Eagles. The Gorlocks were on fire, going on a 10-point run, ended by another three-pointer by Hirn with 33 seconds left in the game. However, Spalding couldn't get anything else to connect, ultimately losing the game, 69-61.

Hunter Wright led for the Golden Eagles, obtaining another double-double for the season with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks.
Maleah Hirn followed with 12 points and two steals.
Allison Just contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
