THE BASICS
THE SCORE: Blackburn 83 – Spalding 59

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started out slow for the Golden Eagles, not getting onto the board until a jumper was sunk by
Xavier Gari at 15:55, followed by another made jumper by
Marcus Montgomery. However, the Beavers were there to play, showing up with a competitive defense and offense. Spalding went into the second half down by 18 points.
- The second half went similar to the first, the Beavers pushed all the way to a 32 point lead. This lead seemed to trigger some morale from Spalding because
Jaiquan Edwards followed by making two free-throws, followed by a layup by
Mitchell Prince, cutting the deficit to 28 points. Then, an assist by
Troy Amanor got Edwards a dunk. However, with only 3:14 left on the clock, it wasn't enough time for the Golden Eagles to turn the game around, ultimately losing to Blackburn.
-
Jaiquan Edwards produced 24 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.
Marcus Montgomery and
Mitchell Prince each followed with eight points apiece.
Troy Amanor contributed six points and 11 rebounds.
