LOUISVILLE, KY. – Spalding won in dominant fashion over Rose-Hulman, 10-0 and 12-2, Sunday afternoon.
GAME ONE
SPALDING 10 – ROSE-HULMAN 0
Olivia Carter and the Golden Eagles' defense shutout Rose-Hulman in game one. Carter needed only five innings to put away the Fightin' Engineers, allowing one hit in 15 at bats and striking out two batters. The offense proved to be a scoring machine, needing only seven hits to score 10 runs. Seven players scored;
Ally Klein,
Olivia Carter,
Mac Henderson, and
Maranda Thomas scored once and
Amilia Hall,
Grace Sweat, and
Avery Morris scored twice.
Abby Booker had a solid performance at the plate and going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Carter collected the win in the circle and now sits at 5-1 as a starter for the Golden Eagles.
GAME TWO
SPALDING 12 – ROSE-HULMAN 2
The Golden Eagles started hot behind the pitching of
Chloe Skorjia, who pitched 3 and 2/3 innings. Facing 11 batters, Skorija gave up one hit and zero runs during her time in the circle, striking out one batter.
Makala Shepherd replaced Skorija in the fourth inning giving up three hits and two runs. The outfield and infield units stepped up after giving up two runs in the top of the fifth inning to get the third out and seal the game. The Golden Eagles came out the gate on fire scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first.
Ally Klein proved that she could do it all offensively for Spalding as she was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Klein also scored two runs and recorded three RBIs.
Avery Morris put together a strong game as well, going 2-for-2, with one run and two RBIs. Skorija received the win and she remains undefeated on the season with a record of 4-0.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio on Thursday to face Mount St. Joseph University that evening for a doubleheader that starts 5:00 pm ET.
