DANVILLE, Ky. – The Golden Eagles suffered a disappointing loss at Centre, 11-10, Wednesday night for their second loss of the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Spalding started off hot scoring four runs in the first two innings.
Garrett Wilson started it off hitting in a run on a single to right field.
Dillon Sievert gave the Golden Eagles their second run of the game with a single to right center, and Wilson followed by collecting his second hit and RBI of the game, which made the score, 3-0, SU in the top of the second inning. In the bottom of the second, Centre managed to score two runs from a triple and a sacrifice fly to center field.
- In the top of the third inning, the Golden Eagles added another run to their lead by a sacrifice fly from
Harol Matos, which grew SU's lead, 5-2. Centre added a run of their own in the third by a single to right field.
Eric Meyer answered with single to shortstop to score another run for Spalding in the fourth inning. Centre scored a run on a wild pitch by Spalding and an additional three runs from a base clearing double, which gave Centre the lead, 7-6. To start off the top of the fifth,
Zane Baker scored two runs on his double and advanced to third of a Centre throwing error to give Spalding their lead back.
- Centre scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. They started it off by a single that scored two runs, a double that scored a run, and a wild pitch by Spalding that gave Centre their fourth run of the inning, which made the score, 11-7, Centre. In Spalding's last chance to score three runs to tie the game, the Golden Eagles came up one run short. SU fought back by scoring on a triple from Sievert. Even though Spalding gave Centre a scare in the seventh, the Golden Eagles came up short with a, 11-10, loss.
STAT LEADERS

Cameron Mattingly started the game for the Eagles and held Centre to three runs on three hits. In the third inning,
Hayden Davenport came in to pitch, and he gave up four runs on three hits and added three strikeouts.
Peyton Hood (0-1), who suffered the loss, came in the game during the fourth inning to pitch, and he had five strikeouts and allowed three hits for four unearned runs.
Aaron Blake finished the game for SU by adding five strikeouts and allowing one hit.

Dillon Sievert led the Golden Eagles at the plate going 3-for-6 with a double, a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI's.
- Garret Wilson led Spalding in RBI's with three and went 2-for-6 with a double and a stolen base.
FOR THE FOES
- Drew Schacht (S, 1) allowed one hit in two innings and struck out three batters in his save.
- Drew Schacht and Chris Esselman each finished the game 2-for-3 in while Seth Hagan drove in three runs.
