ST. LOUIS, MO. – Spalding women's basketball topped Fontbonne, 65-60, winning their 12
th consecutive game, the longest streak in school history. The Golden Eagles finish the season 19-6 overall and move to 14-2 in conference play securing the #2 seed in the SLIAC tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Hunter Wright jumper off a Tse Gahagan assist ignited a 7-0 SU run to start the game. Wright would hit another jumper and Megan Going drilled a three-pointer to cap off the run. SU would continue to grow their lead when Goeing would hit a layup with 2:04 to play in the quarter giving the Golden Eagles an 11-point lead, 16-5, and SU would lead by 10 after one. Kendyl Powell grab an offense rebound and go back up for a layup to push the Golden Eagles lead to seven 23-16. With 4:52 left to play and the Spalding up six, Fontbonne hit a three to cut the lead to three 26-23, the Golden Eagles would end the half up seven, 34-27.
- The Second half was more of the same, with the teams exchanging scores. At the 6:11 mark, the Griffins would jump ahead taking a one-point lead, 37-36, after a layup, but
Alex Martin would hit a layup on the fast break to give the Golden Eagles back the lead, 38-37. The two teams would continue to exchange buckets and the lead over the final 3:37 and headed to the fourth quarter tied at 44. Fontbonne began the fourth quarter scoring back-to-back buckets to take a four-point lead, 48-44. With 7:49 remaining,
Alex Martin hit a jumper to cut the Griffins lead to one-point, 49-48, then Goeing and Just spilt on a pair of free throws to give Spalding a one-point lead, 50-49. With 5:25 to play Tse Gahagan hit a layup on a fast break to extend the Golden Eagles lead to four, 54-49. After the Griffins cut the lead to one with 1:42 to play, Spalding would control the ball and clock the rest of the way to get the victory, 65-60.

Hunter Wright scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Martin added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Tse Gahagan and Megan Going both finished with 10 points.
- The Golden Eagles dominated the paint scoring 32 points compared to the Griffins 22 points. Spalding also outrebounded the Griffins 42 to 39 for the game.
