LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After taking down Berea in the tri-match opener, the Golden Eagles fell to Centre, 3-0, in the final match Saturday at Columbia Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite a great effort, Spalding fell in straight sets. SU went point-for-point with the Colonels in the first set eventually falling 27-25. In the second set, the Golden Eagles rallied from four points down to tie the score at 24 before losing, 27-25. Spalding dropped the third set 25-21 suffering their first loss of the season.
- Sophomore
Claudia Spivey was SU's most efficient attacker hitting .273 for the match tallying five kills on 11 attacks.
Morgan Berning finished the match with a team-high 10 kills, but struggled with accuracy hitting .053 for the match. Freshman
Sarah Richards added six kills, while
Mya Summers distributed 21 assists.
- Spivey and
Theresa Kwarciany controlled the net swatting five blocks apiece, while
Dawson Kemme led the back row with 25 digs.
