ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Golden Eagle softball team saw their postseason hopes dashed Sunday losing both games of a doubleheader at Webster, 4-3 and 11-2, to finish the season 17-16 overall and 9-9 in conference play.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
The Golden Eagles took the lead in the top of the first on an Olivia Carter single that drove in Ally Klein from third.
In the second, Grace Sweat hit her fourth homer run of the season to put SU ahead, 3-0, but the Golden Eagle bats went cold managing two hit the remainder of the game allowing the Gorloks to steal the win, 4-3, in extra innings.
GAME ONE STATS
Olivia Carter led Spalding at the plate going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Amber Kilburn (6-11) was tagged with the loss allowing four runs, three earned, on 12 hits, in 8.2 innings pitched.
FOR THE FOES
Tessa Johanning led the Gorloks offense going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Morgan Mansur (9-6) earned the win holding SU to three runs, on six hits, in 9.0 innings pitched.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
Similar to game one, the Golden Eagles took an early lead with a pair of runs in the first. Following an inning extending error at shortstop, Kaylin Rucker capitalized, doubling to left center scoring Grace Sweat and Olivia Carter to put Spalding in front, 2-0, but would go scoreless the remainder of the game falling, 11-2.
GAME TWO STATS
Ally Klein and Olivia Carter led SU at plate both going 2-for-3, while Kaylin Rucker finished 1-for-2 with a double and two runs batted in.
Olivia Carter (9-5) suffered her second straight loss allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on 10 hits, in 4.1 innings pitched.
FOR THE FOES
Abby Burroughs went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI to lead the Gorloks.
Chelsea Thornley (4-5) earned the win holding SU to two runs, zero earned, on six hits, in 5.0 innings pitched.
