AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Golden Eagles open spring break with a 4-2 win over Wisconsin-La Cross Sunday at the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Fla.

HIGHLIGHTS
Joe Hatcher drove in Garrett Wilson on a sacrifice fly for the first run of the game. Once on base, the speedy Wilson moved into scoring position stealing second and moving to third on a Sievert sac bunt.
SU added a second run in the fifth when short stop Jeff Chapuran got loose for a home run to make the score 2-0.
In the sixth, Bryce Spalding lifted a fly ball to center field for a sacrifice fly allowing Hatcher to tag and score from third.
Following a pair of La Crosse runs in the eighth, SU pushed their lead back to two runs when Dillon Sievert brought in Wilson with a sac fly to center field.
STAT LEADERS
Jimi Keating (3-0) held La Crosse scoreless in 7.0 innings pitched, scattering four hits, while striking out nine batters.
Aaron Mitchell earned his second save of the season forcing La Cross into three fly outs and ground in facing four batters in 1.1 innings pitched.
Joe Hatcher went 1-for-2 on the day with an RBI and a run scored to lead SU at the plate.
Jeff Chapuran with 1-for-3 with a home run, while Sievert and Spalding each drove in runs on a sacrifice fly.
FOR THE FOES
Nate Heili led La Crosse going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Connor Cook (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing two runs, on one hit, while striking out eight batters, in 5.0 innings pitched.
