CARLINVILLE, Ill. – The Spalding men's basketball wrapped up the 2018 season with an 80-63 loss at Principia Saturday in Elsah, Ill. The Golden Eagles end the season with a 9-15 overall record and 7-11 in SLAIC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Spalding jumped out to a 15-8 lead at the 11:51 mark following a Brendan Holt layup, but Principia outscored SU 22-10 to end the half, sending the Golden Eagles to the locker room trailing by five. An Evan McMahan three-pointer trimmed the deficit to two points, but the Panthers gradually pulled away the 80-63 victory.
Dominique Ellis led the Golden Eagle offense with 16 points. In his last game in a Spalding uniform, Brandon Williams scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Evan McMahan and Robert Bendingfield finished in double figures scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.
FOR THE FOES
Micah Paulson led the Panthers torching the Golden Eagles for 36 points.
