Spalding Falls at Principia, 80-67

CARLINVILLE, Ill. – The Spalding men's basketball wrapped up the 2018 season with an 80-63 loss at Principia Saturday in Elsah, Ill. The Golden Eagles end the season with a 9-15 overall record and 7-11 in SLAIC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Spalding jumped out to a 15-8 lead at the 11:51 mark following a Brendan Holt layup, but Principia outscored SU 22-10 to end the half, sending the Golden Eagles to the locker room trailing by five. An Evan McMahan three-pointer trimmed the deficit to two points, but the Panthers gradually pulled away the 80-63 victory.

  • Dominique Ellis led the Golden Eagle offense with 16 points. In his last game in a Spalding uniform, Brandon Williams scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Evan McMahan and Robert Bendingfield finished in double figures scoring 11 and 10 points respectively.
