LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding women's suffered a loss in their final home game of the 2018 calendar year, 82-56, to Transylvania Wednesday evening at Columbia Gym. The loss drops the Golden Eagles record to 6-4, while the Pioneers improve to 7-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles got off to a horrendous start allowing the Pioneers to get out to a 17-0 lead. A pair of
Maleah Hirn free throws got SU on the board, but could only trim one point off the deficit and trailed 24-8 after one quarter. The Pioneers continued to pull away in the second quarter stretching their lead to as many as 34 points and SU trailed, 49-20, at the half. A
Megan Goeing layup in transition trimmed the deficit to 22 points at the 7:01 mark in the third quarter, but that's as close as it would get as the SU fell, 82-56.
- Freshman
Hunter Wright notched her second double-double of the season tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Alex Martin and
Megan Goeing also finished in double-figures. Martin scored 12 points and pulled down five rebounds, while Goeing finished with 10 points.
FOR THE FOES
- Celia Kline paced the Pioneers with 16 points and three assists, while Ashton Woodard added 13 points and four assists.
