Golden Eagles Fall to Panthers, 3-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team lost to conference rival, Greenville University Wednesday evening at home, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles continued to struggle to hit the ball, finishing the match with a .090 hitting percentage.
- Freshmen, Emily Erickson and Samantha Robison led the attack for Spalding with 11 kills apiece, combining for 22 of the team's 37 total kills.
- Freshman, Mya Summers was the primary setter for the Golden Eagles, dishing out 33 assists in the contest. She also led SU defensively, collecting a team-high ten digs.
 
FOR THE FOES
- The Panthers completed the match with a .339 hitting percentage.
- Sophomore, Abby Freeman led the charge offensively for Greenville, accumulating 27 of the team's 55 total kills. She also hit for three service aces.
- Sophomore, Abby Quirin set up her teammates with a team-high 45 assists in the contest.
- Senior, Whitney Nichols was defensively sound for the Panthers, gathering 17 digs for the match.
