The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on a run scoring double and a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. They padded the lead with a run in the second and three more in the third. The Eagles could not get anything going against Lions starter Kiesewetter, as she held Spalding to just two hits and tallying eight strikeouts over seven shutout innings en route to a 7-0 Lion victory.

The Golden Eagles fell to the Lions in game two, 12-2. The win improves the Lions to 16-10 overall. The loss drops the Eagles to 11-10 on the year. Danielle Nichelson (9-5) picks up the win, while Olivia Leet (4-5) is handed the loss.

The Golden Eagles scored a pair of runs on the Klein double in the bottom of the sixth to keep the game alive, but that was all they would get as the Lions went on to another trouncing of the Eagles, 12-2.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action Friday, April 14th, as they head to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Griffins of Fontbonne University in doubleheader action. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 5 pm EST.
