LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's basketball lost their final non-conference tune-up to Adrian College, 71-52, Sunday afternoon at Derek Smith Gymnasium. The loss drops the Golden Eagles record to 1-4 on the season, while Adrian improves to 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles scored the first basket on Domonique Ellis layup, but SU would struggle from the field as Adrian built a 27-9 lead forcing Coach Gray to call a timeout with 8:18 to play in the half. SU went on to outscore the Bulldogs 16-6 over the final eight minutes to cut the deficit to eight points, 33-25, at halftime. A
Brandon Williams three-pointer at the 18:39 mark would get SU within six points, but that is as close the Golden Eagles would get. Adrian answered with a 9-0 spurt pushing the lead to 15 points and went onto win, 71-52.

Dominique Ellis led Spalding with 15 points shooting 50% from the field.
Brandon Williams tallied 12 points and five boards, and
Keith Wallace added seven points going 3-for-3 on the day and pulled in a team-high six rebounds.
- The Golden Eagles struggled to shoot the balls finishing with a 37% field goal percentage including 25% from three-point range.
FOR THE FOES
- Justin Webster was the difference maker for the Bulldogs recording a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
- Adrian had an efficient shooting performance going 25-of-51 (49%) from the field, while shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc.
