Golden Eagles Drop Heartbreaker to Iowa Wesleyan, 2-1, in OT

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – The Spalding University men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss at Iowa Wesleyan, 2-1, in overtime falling to 0-2-0 in SLIAC play and 3-7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles held a 1-0 lead with just over two minutes to play when IWU's Juan Crespo slotted the game-tying goal, and the Tiger's scored the golden goal in the 107th minute to earn the win.
- Spalding put away one goal scored by Kornell Hiliard in the 51st minute.
- The Golden Eagles took a total of 17 shots throughout the course of the match with eight on frame
- Tenko Kono was issued a yellow card in the 100th minute
- Nick Lucas (3-7-0), Lucas recorded eight saves including overtime

FOR THE FOES
- Iowa Wesleyan had goals coming from Juan Crespo (88') and the game winning goal from Blas Villaseca (107')
- Alvaro Sebastian, Pablo Garcia and Blas Villaseca were all given yellow cards
-  Trevor Haasis (5-4-2), earns the win allowing one goal with seven saves for the Tigers in goal
