Volleyball Hosts Tri-Match to Wrap-up 2017 Season

PRINCIPIA
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding volleyball team played their last conference match of the season against Principia College losing in four sets, 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25.
 
THE BASICS
THE SCORE: Principia 3, Spalding 1
LOCATION: Derek Smith Gymnasium, Louisville, Ky.
RECORD: Spalding 8-22 (7-11 SLIAC), Principia 22-5 (14-4 SLIAC)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morgan Berning led Spalding's offense with 15 kills and Claudia Spivey added 10, while Kaitlin Hall passed out 28 assists.
- Spalding had a solid performance at service line tallying 11 aces. Kendra Mahan led the Golden Eagles with three aces.
- Maddie Rosendaul led the Golden Eagles defensively with 23 digs, and Amanda Patterson and Kaitlin Hall added 16 digs apiece.
 
FOR THE FOES
- Sophia Hathaway led Principia with 18 kills.
- Devon Marunde played her way to an assists/digs double-double tallying 38 assists and 29 digs.
 
CENTRE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Golden Eagles wrapped up the 2017 season falling to Centre College, 3-0.

RECORD: Spalding 8-23, Centre 12-15
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles struggled to hit the ball hitting a season-low -.095 for the match.
- Berning led offense again with five kills, while Hall dished out 11 assists.
- Theresa Kwarciany led the SU's defense with five blocks, while Patterson finished with nine digs.
 
FOR THE FOES
- Hailey Foote led the Colonels with 18 kills, while Kylie Cochran tallied 25 assists.
- Peyton Vacala finished with 14 digs to lead the Centre defense.
