LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's soccer team closed out the 2017 season falling to Webster, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Woehrle Athletic Complex. The Golden Eagles finish the season with a 7-10 record and 4-5 in conference play.

THE SENIORS
Prior to the game SU soccer honored seniors
Austin Lanham,
Jacob Davis,
Jacob Holehan,
Jacob McMurry and
Sergio Olvera-Vancini. This group of seniors helped transform the face of Spalding soccer leading the program to its first SLIAC conference championship in 2016 making the postseason in 2014 and 2016, while compiling a career record of 40-32-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 1-0,
Kornell Hilliard put the Golden Eagles on the board scoring with his 15
th goal of the season to knot the score at 1-1 at the 38:28 mark in the first half.
- Hilliard and
Jacob McMurry combined to take eight of Spalding's nine shot attempts.

Nick Lucas (7-10-0) suffered the loss allowing three goals while collecting seven saves.
FOR THE FOES
- Edin Mehmedovic scored the first goal of the game in the 25
th minute. After Hilliard answered in the 39
th to tie the score, 1-1, Mehmedovic scored the game-winner in the 52
nd minute.
- Dino Music would help Webster seal with win adding an insurance goal in the 75
th minute making the final score, 3-1.
Kyle Hertel (7-4-1) earned the win collecting one save and giving up no goals in 45 minutes in goal.
