PRESTONBURG, Ky. – The Spalding University women's golf team finished third at the Upike Spring Invite shooting a season low two-round 370-334=704, Saturday and Sunday at Stone Crest Golf Course in Prestonburg, Ky.
The freshman duo of
Taylor Thompson and
Beth Graham led the group both finishing inside the top-15. Thompson placed tied for 11
th place scoring 92 on Saturday, followed by an impressive 76 on Sunday carding a 92-76=168 two-day total. Graham finished three spots back in 14
th place shooting 87-85=172.
Megan Shirley and Jordan Strother tied for 25
th place. Shirley shot a first round 93, five strokes better than Strother's 98, but Strother closed the gap on day two shooting an 84, while Shirley shot an 89. Shirley and Strother finished with a 182 two-day total.
Destiny Calvert rounded out the SU five-man shooting 101-92=193 finishing tied for 33
rd place.
