NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Spalding University volleyball team fell to the Westminster Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon, 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED- In the first set the Golden Eagles fell behind early and couldn't dig themselves out of the hole, losing the first set 25-14.
- The second set was a much more competitive set with the Golden Eagles falling just short, 25-21.
- The Golden Eagles felt more comfortable in the third set, passing the ball well and finishing kill attempts winning the third set 25-20, extending the match.
- The fourth set saw each team go back and fourth before the Golden Eagles sent the match into the fifth and final set with 25-23 victory.
- In the final set of the match, Spalding held an 11-9 before Westminster stormed back for a 13-11 lead. They would go on to win the set and the match 15-12.
UP NEXT The Golden Eagles will head on the road and play four matches in four straight days against conference opponents. The first match will be in St. Louis, Missouri on October 5 vs. Fontbonne University.
