HANOVER – The Spalding University volleyball team swept Otterbein University 25-20, 25-19, 25-17 to earn their first win of the season.
 
Jessica Diehl (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) led the SU attack with nine kills, while outside hitter E.C. Burkman (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) added eight kills.
 
Burkman also paced the defense with 13 digs, and Erin Downs controlled the net with four blocks.
 
Spalding fell to Hanover 3-1 in game two of the day. The Golden Eagles dropped the first two sets 25-22, 25-13, but bounced back to take the third set 19-25 before losing a hard fought fourth set 25-21.
