Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ELMHURST – The Spalding University volleyball team lost their final two games at the Elmhurst Invitational, losing to Luther College 3-0 in first match and No. 17 University of Chicago 3-1 in their final match of the tournament.

SPALDING 0 – LUTHER 3
The Golden Eagles (0-4) jumped out to an early 5-1 lead following a Jessica Diehl kill, and led 10-5 after a Victoria Heitzman ace. However, Luther ran off ten consecutive points to take a 15-10 advantage, and held the lead the rest of the way, winning the first set 25-19.

Both teams went point-for-point in the second set, but the Norse outscored SU 9-3 to win the set 25-18 on a Kelsey Sorensen kill.

The Golden Eagles played a hard fought third set, but fell short 25-22. SU tied the set at 22 on a Diehl kill, but three straight Luther points ended the set and the match.
