Box Score 2 The Spalding University volleyball team went 1-1 in their tri-match at Webster University Saturday.
SU dropped their first match in three sets, losing to Webster 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.
Junior outside hitter E.C. Burkman led the Golden Eagle attack with 10 kills, while
Morgan Wilson and
Katelyn Cosgrove each passed out 13 assists.
Casey Wilkerson paced the defense with 15 digs and
Erin Downs had two blocks.
The Golden Eagles bounced back in the second match, to sweep Blackburn College 25-13, 25-10, 25-16.
Middle hitter
April Fisher led Spalding's offense with seven kills and senior setter Samantha Young tallied a team-high six assists. Freshman
Erin Downs tallied 2.5 blocks, while
Kaylee McCartney had 10 digs.
Spalding will be back in action Monday, October 14 when they take on Blackburn College. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m., ET at Derek Smith Gymnasium (DSG).
