Head Coach Kevin Gray took the helm of the Spalding men’s basketball program in 1998. Since, the Louisville, Ky. native has guided the Golden Eagles to over 300 wins, two NCAA tournament appearances and four conference championships.

PRIOR TO SPALDING
Prior to coaching at Spalding Coach Gray had a very successful career as an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga, University of Alabama, and Baylor University.

Coach Gray began coaching in 1977 as an assistant basketball coach at the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga. During his tenure at UTC Coach Gray helped guide Mocs to two NCAA appearances. After seven seasons as an assistant at Tennessee – Chattanooga Coach Gray became an assistant coach at the University of Alabama. While at Alabama Coach Gray was an integral part in helping guide the Crimson Tide to seven NCAA tournaments, four Sweet Sixteen’s and two Elite Eight’s. In 1992, Coach Gray was name assistant coach at Baylor University. Coach Gray spent six years with the Bears before returning home to Louisville to become the Head Coach at Spalding.

PERSONAL
Coach Gray, a Louisville Ky. native, was an All-State football and basketball player at Manual High School. Coach Gray attended the University of Tennessee –Chattanooga where was a four-year starter, three-year captain of the men’s basketball team, and MVP of the South Region and team MVP his senior season. He graduated in 1976 earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. Gray was also inducted into the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992.
