Kurt Ohlen

Coach Kurt Ohlen is in his third season as head coach of the Golden Eagles Men's Lacrosse program.

In the 2024 season, Ohlen guided the Golden Eagles to a 2-12 record that included both the first win and the first conference win in program history. Over the course of the 2024 campaign, Ohlen guided two players to All-HCLC honors. Nick Guzman and Xzayvyon Isom were both named to the All-Conference Second Team.

In 2023, Ohlen led a Golden Eagles squad composed almost entirely of Freshmen to an 0-14 record that unfortunately does not reflect the fight and effort of the young team. This season included the first goal scored in program history (2/17 vs Piedmont College) and the first Spalding men’s Lacrosse athlete to receive All-HCLC honors with John Kelly being named to the All-Conference Second Team.

Ohlen took the helm of the Spalding program after previously starting the Men's Lacrosse program at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado. He also spent time as a coach in the high school ranks, guiding several players to all-state honors, including an academic All-American. Additionally, Ohlen serves as a guest clinician at the United States Naval Academy lacrosse camps, and has extensive experience at the club level, serving as the director of Fellowship Lacrosse and most recently coaching with Team 91 Colorado in Denver.

Ohlen and his wife Karen have a home in Louisville and are parents to Mercedes and Hank.
