Coach Trevor Johnson serves as the inaugural Head Esports Coach at Spalding University, leading the development of the Golden Eagles’ newest varsity program. Since taking the helm, Johnson has built competitive teams across Valorant, Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, and Fortnite, guiding Spalding through an impressive inaugural Fall season highlighted by top-duo performances in Fortnite and significant competitive growth across all rosters.
Johnson brings a wide-ranging background to Spalding Esports. He holds a Master of Science in Esports Business and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Business, teaching coursework in esports operations, performance management, and wellness. His professional experience spans collegiate esports administration, event coordination, and creative production, including cinematography, photography, and digital content creation for esports teams and community events.
Prior to Spalding, Johnson was instrumental in building Manchester University’s esports program from the ground up. He contributed to team development, competitive planning, and the early identity of the program, helping set the tone for Manchester’s entrance into collegiate esports.
A Southern Indiana native, Johnson resides in Clarksville, IN.Â
