Eric Street

Coach Eric Street serves as Assistant Esports Coach at Spalding University. In this role, he leads the Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. teams, while also collaborating with Coach Johnson across all esports teams, including content production and program development.

Prior to joining Spalding, Coach Street spent four years (2020–2024) as Assistant Esports Coach at Midway University, where he worked with the League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, and Call of Duty teams. During his tenure, Midway achieved significant competitive success, highlighted by a NECC 2024 Navigators Division Championship and a NECC 2023 Emergent Rocket League Division Championship.

A lifelong gamer and dedicated esports researcher, Coach Street holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from Morehead State University, and an Ed.D. from United States Sports University. In addition to coaching, he serves on the Spalding University School of Business faculty, where he developed and teaches an Esports Business course designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly growing esports industry.

Coach Street is also the founder and owner of Let’s Play, a company that partners with local businesses to host and promote esports tournaments and community gaming events.

A Kentucky native, Coach Street resides in Lexington.
