TURNING POINTS
Freshman
Odens Dejour started the day for Spalding with the 60m dash. He finished the race in 24th place overall with a time of 7.45 seconds. Dejour stepped off the track for the time being but would return later for the 200m dash.
Next for the Golden Eagles was the sophomore
Wyatt Frye in the one-mile run. Frye despite being in an overcrowded heat, came just shy of his personal best (PB) in a time of 4:43.68 and 42nd overall.Â
After Frye stepped off the track, fellow sophomore
Gavin Janning made his way on for the 400m dash. He came away with a new indoor PB of a time of 54.15 seconds. Janning also finished in 22nd place.
While there was a break for the running events,
Aterryonn Williams made his way to the ring for his two events, the shot put and the weight throw. Williams would take away a new PB of 9.06m (29' 8.75") in the shot put which was good for 15th overall, and 9.18m (30' 1.5") in the weight throw which was good for 21st overall.
Noah Stinson kept his legs fresh for his signature event, the 800m dash. He was seeded in the last heat. Despite that fact, Stinson went and won the final heat in the event in a time of 2:02.58, which ultimately set a new school record for the program. His time was good for 23rd overall.
Stinson's day wasn't over after the 800m. He was joined with Dejour to compete in the 200m dash. Dejour would ultimately get the faster time over Stinson running 24.45 and 24.66 respectively.Â
