Louisville, KY – The Spalding University Track & Field team traveled to Illinois College Saturday to compete in the True Blue Open where Kyle Jenkins and Eric Yepez both came home with top-three finishes.

Jenkins finished with a trio of top 10's, including a first place finish in the men's discus throw with a final throw of 47.43 meters. Kyle also placed fifth in men's shot put (13.88 meters) and sixth in men's hammer throw (46.90 meters).

Yepez finished second in the men's 10000 meter run, Eric clocked a time of 34:03.65.

Freshman Robert Newberry jumped 12.12 meters to finish seventh in the men's triple jump.

The Spalding men's 4×400 meter relay team finished in the top-ten, clocking a final time of 3:39.39.
