Senior Kyle Olliges had an outstanding week which earned SLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Olliges helped Spalding to a win in each of his appearances on the week. On Wednesday, Olliges threw a rare inning of relief in SU's 12-6 win over Transylvania. The senior gave up two hits and one run against the Pioneers, but retired the side with three strikeouts. Sunday, Olliges returned to his normal role as a starter in the Golden Eagles game against nationally ranked Concordia University Chicago. The senior right-hander pitched the Golden Eagles to a 7-0 shutout win limiting the Cougars to six hits, while striking out 10 batters and walking none in a complete-game effort. On the week, the Louisville, Ky. native finished with a 0.90 era, struck out 13 batters and walked two in 10.0 innings. Olliges is currently tied for most wins in the SLIAC (4-0) and leads the conference in strikeouts (34).
