Softball lands Nine on All-Conference Teams; One on All-Sportsmanship; Coach Williams wins SLIAC Coach of the Year

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Spalding softball landed nine players on All-Conference teams and one on the All-Sportsmanship team, the conference announced Wednesday. Head Coach Art Williams was also named SLIAC Coach of the Year.

Grayce Marcum, Riley Wilkins, and Sydney Schott were placed on the First-Team All-Conference.

Marcum's batting average this season was .433. She also had 52 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, four home runs, and 39 RBIs. Wilkins did a great job this season as a pitcher and second baseman. Wilkins pitched in 25.1 innings, only gave up 24 earned runs, and tallied 10 strikeouts. She had a .467 batting average in the batter's box and tallied four RBIs. Schott earned First-Team honors by pitching 109 innings. She tallied eight wins, had a 3.85 ERA, and had 72 strikeouts. 

Morgan Gambrell, Madison Loechle, and Carsyn Sidebottom were placed on the Second-Team. 

Gambrell had a .393 batting average on the season. She tallied a home run, four doubles, 18 RBIs, and 22 hits. Loechle found her way on the Second-Team by having a .369 batting average. She also drew 25 walks, tallied 31 hits, and 20 RBIs. Sidebottom rounded out the honors for the Second-Team. The sophomore had a .353 batting average, tallied 36 hits, and grabbed seven RBIs.

Kennadi Schleicher-Drasler, Emma Eaton, and Dawn Wilson were placed on the Third-Team. 

Schleicher-Drasler tallied nine wins on the season for the Golden Eagles. She also pitched 70.2 innings, had an ERA of 4.66, and grabbed a save. Eaton had a career year with a batting average of .312. She also tallied 21 RBIs and drew 15 walks. Wilson rounded out the Third-Team with a batting average of .333. She tallied 11 RBIs and grabbed a triple on the season.

Allison Nell was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. Nell tallied 11 hits, 10 RBIs, and drew 13 walks for the Golden Eagles this season.

Head Coach Art Williams won the SLIAC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. Williams led Spalding University to a co-regular season title, going 16-2 in conference play and earning the top seed in this year's conference tournament.
