Spalding Women Begin Defense of National Title

Spalding University will begin defending their USCAA National Championship starting today (3/4/10) at 6:00p.m. vs. Rochester College at Penn State University-Fayette in Uniontown, PA.  On Tuesday, sophomore forward Kelly Harrod (Bullitt East) was named First Team All-American and sophomore guards Megan Davis (Louisville Holy Cross) and Melinda Leavell (North Hardin) were named Academic All-Americans.

Kelly Harrod was also named first team all-conference in the Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and Junior Lauren Reed (Western Hills) was named to the second team.  Freshman point guard Shontel Bates (Butler) was named to the SLIAC’s all defense team.
