Todd Garvey

Todd Garvey started his tenure as the women’s volleyball head coach for Spalding University on February 2nd, 2026.

Garvey joined the Wake Forest volleyball staff as an assistant coach on April 7, 2025, bringing more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience to Winston-Salem. He arrived from Liberty University, where he served as defensive coordinator, lead recruiter, and lead scouting assistant, working across multiple position groups while assisting with practice and match planning.

Garvey previously led Jacksonville State for five seasons (2018–23), compiling a 103–39 overall record (.725) that ranked among the top winning percentages nationally. He guided the Gamecocks to back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference regular-season championships in 2019 and 2020 and was named OVC Coach of the Year in 2019. Jacksonville State finished in the top three of its conference every season under his leadership and produced 18 combined all-conference selections.

Before his head coaching role, Garvey served as an assistant at Lipscomb, Ohio University, and Purdue, where he coached future Olympic gold medalist Annie Drews. He began his career as head coach at Mercy Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, posting a 320–41 record and winning three state championships, including a national title in 2014.

A Louisville native, Garvey earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and competed as a USA Volleyball athlete from 1999–2008.
