LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Spalding senior thrower Katie Suiters was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year.

Suiters, an Indianapolis, Ind. native, secured two medals while competing in four events at the SLIAC Championships. Katie finished first in the discus with a throw of 37.04 meters and took second in the shot put with a distance of 11.49 meters. Suiters also picked up a fifth place finish in the hammer throw and a sixth place finish in the javelin.

Suiters and the Golden Eagles will be back in action this weekend at the Kentucky Relays in Lexington, Ky.
