McAfee Named SLIAC Player of the Week

SLIAC ANNOUNCES BASKETBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK OF JANUARY 24-30
St. Louis, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the men’s basketball athlete of the week for the week of January 24-30.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Spalding University’s Dewhon McAfee, a junior from Louisville, Ky. (Butler), has been named the SLIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 24-30. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.
McAfee, a 6-0 guard, helped lead the Golden Eagles to two victories last week with an average of 20.0 points and 6.5 assists per game, while also shooting .538 (14-of-26) from the field, .400 (4-of-10) from three-point range and .727 (8-of-11) from the charity stripe.
McAfee scored 29 points on 9-of 14 (.642) shooting from the field, 3-of-6 (.500) from behind the arc and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line in an 81-47 victory versus Eureka College. He also dished out five assists and tallied two steals in the win. McAfee added 11 points, eight assists, three rebounds, one block and one steal in a 70-59 win over Westminster College (Mo.)
