Golden Eagles Go 1-1 in Vegas
Las Vegas, Nevada played host to Men’s basketball team over the 2 week holiday break for the Annual D3Hoops Classic. The Golden Eagles took on Hanover College and the University of LaVerne last week going 1-1 with a 61-42 loss and 67-64 win respectively
.
In the first game versus Hanover, Spalding could never really get their offense going losing 61-42. They played a great game defensively only allowing 61 points, but could not get contribution from their top scorers. Quayshaun Hamilton led all Golden Eagles with 9 points.
The second game fared much better for the Golden Eagles as they were victorious with a 67-64 win over the University of LaVerne. Their top scorers were the difference in this one as Jametrius Brasher led Spalding with 15 points and 8 boards. Thomas Blakemore also added 14 points in his newly added starting role. Tyler St. Julian scored 14 points off the bench as he continues his best collegiate start to his career. Freshman, Robert Pittman, went perfect from the floor (5-5) adding a career high 10 points of his own off the bench.
The Golden Eagles are back at home this Wednesday when they take on Eureka College at 8pm.
