Wardrip Grabs Player of the Week Honors
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the spring sports players of the week for the week of March 28-April 3.
BASEBALL – PITCHER
Spalding University’s Jake Wardrip, a senior from Louisville, Ky. (St. Xavier), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 28-April 3.
Wardrip, a 6-0 left-handed pitcher, threw his third complete game shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory against Fontbonne University. In 7.0 innings on the mound he struck out 10 batters and allowed only four hits. Wardrip finished his second consecutive shutout with only 70 pitches and 0 walks.
In two coference starts Wardrip has thrown 14 innings giving up 0 runs, 7 hits, while walking only 1.
